By using FrugalGrocery

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the FrugalGrocery application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.

You represent that you are legally able to enter into these Terms under the laws of your jurisdiction.

Service description

FrugalGrocery helps you build and compare grocery shopping lists based on prices you provide from different stores. You can add product and price information in three ways:

• Receipt upload or scan: you may upload or scan a receipt, and an AI system extracts product names and prices, which are then associated with a store you select or create.
• Price tag upload or scan: you may upload or scan images of price tags, and an AI system extracts the product and price, which are then associated with a store you select or create.
• Manual entry: you can manually type in product names, quantities, and prices for the stores you choose.

The App organizes this information so you can create, compare, and optimize grocery lists based on your own data.

No account creation

FrugalGrocery does not require or provide user account creation or login. Access to the App is tied to your device and your valid subscription (if any) through the relevant app store or payment provider.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and for any activity within the App on that device.

Subscription model

FrugalGrocery may offer a subscription that unlocks or extends functionality, such as unlimited or expanded use of AI features or other premium capabilities ("Subscription").

Subscription details (price, billing period, and included features) are presented to you in the app store or payment interface at the time of purchase. By starting a Subscription, you authorize the app store or payment provider to charge you the applicable recurring fees, taxes, and any other charges, according to their terms.

You can manage or cancel your Subscription through the platform where you purchased it (for example, your Apple App Store or Google Play account). Cancellation will take effect at the end of the then-current billing period.

No refunds. All Subscription fees are final and non‑refundable, including for partially used periods. Where allowed by the applicable platform, you may stop future renewals by cancelling before the next billing period, but you will not receive a refund for payments already made.

How your images are used

When you upload or scan receipts or price tags, the App uses AI services to extract the minimum information needed for the App to work, such as product names, quantities, store names, and prices.

• Only the information required to create and maintain your price and product data is extracted from the images.
• The images are processed for this purpose only and are not used to build user profiles or for targeted advertising.
• We do not use the images to intentionally extract sensitive personal information about you (such as names, addresses, payment card numbers, or loyalty IDs), and you should avoid uploading images that visibly contain such data whenever possible.

AI services may be provided by third‑party providers, and your images may pass through their systems solely to perform this extraction. Those providers process data under their own terms and privacy practices.

What we store (and what we do not)

FrugalGrocery is designed to operate with minimal personal data. In particular:

• No user accounts. We do not create or manage user profiles or login credentials.
• No direct personal identifiers. We do not intentionally store information such as your name, email address, or physical address as part of the core App experience.
• Price and product data. The main information stored by the App is the product and price data (and related store names) that you provide via images or manual entry so the App can build and maintain your shopping lists.

Depending on your device, operating system, or app store, some technical data (such as crash logs or analytics) may be processed by those platforms to keep the App running reliably. Such processing is governed by the respective platform's terms and privacy policies.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

• use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations;
• attempt to copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise access the App's source code, except where allowed by law;
• upload, share, or process images or content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, or infringes the rights of others;
• interfere with or disrupt the App's operation, servers, or networks;
• use the App to build or train a competing product or service without our express written permission.

You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the prices and product information you provide, and for reviewing any AI‑generated results before relying on them.

Limited license to use the App

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and any applicable payment obligations, we grant you a limited, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on a device that you own or control, solely for your personal, non‑commercial use.

We and our licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in and to the App, including all software, user interfaces, designs, graphics, trademarks, and content, except for the data you provide.

You retain any rights you may have to the content you submit (such as product and price data), but you grant us a limited license to store, process, and use that content solely to operate and improve the App.

Accuracy & reliability

The App relies on automated systems, including AI, to read information from receipts and price tags and to help you compare and organize your grocery data. These systems may occasionally make mistakes or produce incomplete or outdated results.

You should always double‑check important information (such as prices, quantities, and store names) before making purchasing decisions. The App is intended as a convenience and support tool only and should not be treated as a substitute for your own judgment.

App stores, payments & AI providers

The App may rely on third‑party services, including app stores, payment processors, analytics providers, and AI service providers. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies, which you should review.

We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of such third parties.

When we may restrict access

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App (in whole or in part) if we reasonably believe that:

• you have seriously or repeatedly violated these Terms; or
• your use of the App could cause harm, legal liability, or disruption to the App, other users, or third parties.

Where reasonably possible, we will try to give you notice before taking such action. Termination will not give rise to any refund obligation for amounts already paid, except as required by law or by the applicable app store's policies.

No warranty

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non‑infringement.

We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error‑free, or free from security vulnerabilities, or that price or product data will always be accurate, complete, or up to date.

Limits on what we're responsible for

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of savings, data, or profits, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App.

To the extent our liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the App or these Terms will be limited to the amount you paid for the Subscription during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or, if you have no Subscription, to the extent allowed by law.

Updates

We may update the App from time to time to add or remove features, improve performance, or address technical or legal issues. We may also update these Terms to reflect such changes or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.

When we make material changes to these Terms, we will seek to provide notice within the App or through other appropriate means. Your continued use of the App after the updated Terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of them.

Which laws apply

These Terms and your use of the App are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where you reside, without regard to its conflict‑of‑laws rules, unless another law is required to apply by the rules of your country or region.

Where required by law, you may have rights to bring disputes in the courts of your place of residence. Otherwise, any disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of the place where we are established.
