Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Framr ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the Framr mobile application ("App"). We are the data controller for any personal data processed in connection with the App.

Last updated: April 12, 2026

Summary

  • No account, no profile. You don't create an account and we don't build a profile about you.
  • Videos are transient. In cloud mode, your video is uploaded only for AI processing and is permanently deleted from our servers immediately after analysis completes.
  • On-device mode is fully private. Processing stays entirely on your device — no data leaves it.
  • We don't collect personal identifiers. No name, email, address, or biometric data as part of normal App use.
  • No advertising tracking. We do not build ad profiles or track you across apps.
  • No refunds. Subscription payments are final and non-refundable.
  • GDPR rights. If you are in the EU/EEA, you have rights of access, erasure, portability, and others. Contact us to exercise them.

Data we process

In short: We process video data temporarily (cloud mode only) and basic technical data. We do not collect personal identifiers.

Video data (cloud mode only):
When you use cloud mode, your video is uploaded to our servers for AI analysis. The video is deleted immediately after processing completes. We extract only still frames, which are returned to your device. No video is retained.

What we do not collect:

  • No username, password, or account credentials.
  • No email address or phone number (the App does not require them).
  • No home address, billing address, or payment card details (payments go through the app store).
  • No biometric data and no attempt to identify you from video content.

Technical data: The App or the operating system may process basic technical data (device model, OS version, crash logs) as needed to maintain stability and fix bugs. This is standard for mobile apps and is not used for marketing or advertising profiling.

AI processing & video deletion

Mode Where processed Video leaves device? Retained after analysis?
On-device Your device (local AI model) No No
Cloud Our servers + third-party AI API Yes — temporarily No — deleted immediately

In cloud mode, your video is processed by an AI service provider (currently Anthropic's Claude API). The video may pass through their infrastructure solely for this analysis. Anthropic operates under its own privacy practices — see anthropic.com/privacy.

We do not use your video to train AI models, build user profiles, or for any purpose other than returning extracted frames to you.

If you prefer no data to leave your device, use on-device mode.

Why we process your data

If you are in the EU/EEA, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR:

  • Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)): Processing your video in cloud mode is necessary to deliver the service you requested (frame extraction).
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): Processing basic technical and crash data to maintain App stability and security.

We do not process special categories of personal data intentionally. If your video incidentally contains such data (e.g., health information visible in the footage), it is processed only to perform frame extraction and deleted immediately after.

How long we keep data

  • Videos (cloud mode): Deleted immediately after AI processing completes. Typically within seconds to a few minutes.
  • Extracted frames: Returned to your device and not stored on our servers.
  • Technical/crash logs: Retained only as long as needed to diagnose issues, typically up to 90 days.

Because we operate no user accounts, uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data from your device. There is no central profile for us to delete on your behalf.

Payments

Subscriptions are processed by the app store platform (e.g., Apple App Store). We do not see or store your payment card details. The platform may share only the confirmation needed to verify your subscription status.

No refunds. All subscription payments are final and non-refundable as described in our Terms of Service and the applicable app store rules.

Where data goes

In cloud mode, your video may be transferred to servers outside the European Economic Area, including to Anthropic (United States). Anthropic participates in data protection frameworks that provide appropriate safeguards for EU/EEA personal data. You can review Anthropic's data transfer commitments at their privacy page.

If at any time we use a different provider or transfer mechanism, we will update this Policy accordingly.

Rights for EU/EEA users

If you are located in the EU/EEA, you have the following rights under the GDPR:

  • Access (Art. 15): You can request confirmation of whether we process your data and a copy of that data.
  • Rectification (Art. 16): You can ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure (Art. 17): You can ask us to delete your data where there is no legitimate ground for us to keep it.
  • Restriction (Art. 18): You can ask us to restrict processing in certain circumstances.
  • Data portability (Art. 20): Where processing is based on contract or consent and carried out automatically, you can request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection (Art. 21): You can object to processing based on legitimate interests.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at s.castellitti.dev@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority: Garante per la protezione dei dati personaligaranteprivacy.it.

Services we rely on

Framr may use the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy:

  • Anthropic Claude API — cloud AI processing of video frames.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play — app distribution and subscription management.

We do not sell your data to any third party, nor do we use it for advertising targeting.

Age restriction

Framr is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the App and shared data that should be removed, contact us at s.castellitti.dev@gmail.com.

Updates

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the App or to comply with applicable law. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice inside the App.
